Emergency Video Notarization Extended
With the Governor’s recent signing of HB 517, Emergency Video Notarizations (EVNs) have been extended for another year. EVNs will now expire at 12:01 a.m. on July 1, 2027, effectively at the end of June 2027, or until the first license is issued for Remote Electronic Notarizations.
EVNs allow a notary to carry out acknowledgment, oath, or affirmation for a principal via real-time video conferencing, as long as all statutory requirements are satisfied. EVNs are valid only if the notary verifies the principal’s identity. Training resources, requirements, and relevant forms are available here.
