John Bryson Receives John B. McMillan Distinguished Service Award

Lawyers Mutual congratulates John D. Bryson for receiving the prestigious John B. McMillan Distinguished Service Award from the North Carolina State Bar. He was presented with the award on April 2, 2025, in High Point, North Carolina where he practices with the law firm of Wyatt Early Harris Wheeler LLP. 

Mr. Bryson is a litigation partner with the Wyatt Early Harris Wheeler firm and has practiced there since 1985. He has served as an assistant public defender and is a highly respected board-certified specialist in criminal law (state and federal). He has tried 15 capital murder cases and 15 non-capital murder cases.

Mr. Bryson has also served as an adjunct professor at Wake Forest University School of Law since 1994. He has a commitment to teaching aspiring lawyers and has coached a high school mock trial team since 2007. In addition to teaching students, Mr. Bryson is a frequent presenter at continuing legal education seminars.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Bryson has dedicated considerable time to serving his community. He has been actively involved with Triad Health Project, including a term as president, and has served on the Board of Directors for Caring Services, Inc. Additionally, he contributed to the Board of Trustees for Westchester Country Day School, including two years as chair. His ongoing commitment to service and his contributions to these organizations highlight his dedication to making a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
