Lawyers Mutual NC is pleased to welcome Jessica Cody, a rising 2L at North Carolina Central University School of Law, as our summer law intern. Jessica graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science from Hampton University in 2024.

At Hampton University, Jessica distinguished herself as a student trustee, serving as a full voting member of the Board of Trustees for two years. She also founded the scholarship planning initiative Win Once. Win Again, which educates and mentors high school seniors on scholarship opportunities and the college application process. Through this program, Jessica has helped students secure over $100,000 in scholarships to date.

During her six-week internship at our Cary office, Jessica will work alongside claims attorneys and other departments, gaining practical legal experience through research, document drafting, and attendance at mediations and arbitrations. Her schedule also includes external professional development activities designed to expand her network and enhance her professionalism skills. As a company that values meaningful relationships, Lawyers Mutual encourages interns to forge connections within the legal community that will benefit them throughout law school and into their professional careers.

Lawyers Mutual is proud to support the future of the legal profession by participating in the North Carolina Bar Association’s Minorities in the Profession (MIP) Summer Associate Program. Through this partnership, we welcome talented minority law students and reaffirm our ongoing commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal community.
