Lawyers Mutual welcomes new members to Claims and Policy Teams
2018 was an exciting year of transition for Lawyers Mutual. We launched two subsidiaries, Lawyers Mutual Consulting and Services and LM Title Agency, LLC and welcomed several new team members. Among the new faces of Lawyers Mutual is Claims Counsel Uta Zacharias.
A native of Berlin, Germany, Uta grew up in the United States and received her B.A. from Clemson University. She received her J.D. with a Certificate in International Business Law from Loyola University in New Orleans.
Prior to joining Lawyers Mutual, Uta worked as Senior Subrogation Counsel at Investors Title Insurance Company since 2010. She came to Investors Title from LandAmerica in Richmond, Virginia, where she served six years as Associate Claims Counsel. Uta also practiced for several years in law firms in Charlotte, N.C. and Richmond, V.A., where she focused on real estate, general business transactional matters, employment and immigration law. Uta is licensed in North Carolina and Virginia. She is a member of the Wake County Real Property Lawyers Association.
We are extremely excited to have Uta as part of our team. Her experience paired with her dedication to providing exceptional service makes her a valued asset to our claims team.
We are equally excited to welcome the newest members of our policy team; Juan Sosa and Sara Valentine.
Juan Sosa is an attorney and former small business owner who joined Lawyers Mutual as an underwriter in October 2018. This is Juan’s second go-round with Lawyers Mutual, having first served the company as a summer associate in May of 2013. Most recently, Juan was an associate attorney for Turning Point Litigation in Greensboro, NC where he worked on a wide-range of interesting litigation matters. He is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law and Belmont University in Nashville, TN. As a member of the North Carolina bar, former small business owner, and musician, Juan brings a fresh perspective on the challenges facing law firms and new attorneys in today’s shifting legal climate.
Sara Valentine is a litigation paralegal who joined Lawyers Mutual in July of 2018 as an underwriter. Prior to joining Lawyers Mutual, she was a paralegal with McGuireWoods and Hedrick Gardner Kincheloe & Garofalo, LLP. Sara has experience working closely with litigation attorneys for over 9 years in the areas of medical malpractice, products liability, personal injury and financial services.
Beyond the policies we hold, the risk management resources we provide and the CLE seminars we host; Lawyers Mutual is about people. We can’t do what we do without a great team growing and learning together to ensure the vision and values of the company are upheld.
