Nicholas J. Bakatsias joined the Board of Directors of Lawyers Mutual in 2025.  As a partner with Carruthers & Roth, P.A. in Greensboro, Nick has a broad-based business and corporate transactional practice which includes assisting businesses and individuals with capital formation matters, complex joint venture transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, private equity ventures, and private placement offerings.

Nick received his undergraduate degree from Duke University (summa cum laude in 2002), his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law (2005), and an LL.M in Taxation from the University of Miami School of Law (2006).  He has been active in both the Business Law Section and Tax Section of the North Carolina Business Association for several years.  Nick was selected for inclusion in Business North Carolina Magazine’s 2025 Legal Elite for the practice area of Business. He was also named to the 2025 North Carolina Super Lawyers by North Carolina Super Lawyers Magazine for the practice area of Business & Corporate Law.  Previously, Nick received the following honors: Business North Carolina: Legal Elite (2018, 2024-2025), North Carolina Super Lawyers (2022-2025), and North Carolina Super Lawyers: Rising Star (2012-2013, 2018-2020).
