What Elvis and Lawyers Mutual Have in Common
In 1977, attorneys in North Carolina began lining up to purchase professional liability policies from a brand-new company called Lawyers Mutual.
That same year, we said farewell to Elvis Presley, who died on August 16.
In the 40 years since, Lawyers Mutual has become the leading malpractice insurance provider in the state. Its insured lawyers can be found in small towns and big cities, from the western mountains to the coastal beaches.
Elvis is everywhere as well. Most recently, he was sighted in McDowell County – oh wait, that was Bigfoot spotted in the Carolina woods. Even so, the King’s legend lives on.
