Laura Loyek to lead the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys
Cary, N.C. —Lawyers Mutual is pleased to announce and celebrate Claims Attorney, Laura Loyek, as she begins a term as President of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys (NCAWA). Laura has been an active member with the NCAWA since 2010 and with the Lawyers Mutual Claims Team for 12 years.
“I am honored to serve as NCAWA’s President as we navigate the coming year,” says Laura, who joined the organization’s board as Vice President in February 2019. “This group has felt like home to me since I attended my first annual conference more than ten years ago. I have found it to be a place where people can be their true selves and talk about things that really matter. I look forward to making meaningful connections, supporting our members and chapters, and advancing NCAWA’s mission in 2021. “
Laura Loyek came to Lawyers Mutual as Claims Counsel in 2009. Her focus areas include estates and trusts, business litigation, and bankruptcy. Prior to joining Lawyers Mutual, she practiced with the law firms of Smith Moore and K&L Gates. Laura earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University. In addition to the NCAWA, she is an active member of the Wake County Bar Association, Wake Women Attorneys and the Real Property Section of the NCBA. Former leadership roles include Membership Co-Chair of the Insurance Section of the NCBA and a 2014 Board Member of Wake Women Attorneys.
